CONSTRAINTS FACED BY RURAL YOUTH IN DIFFERENT CATTLE MANAGEMENT PRACTICES

Abstract

The present study was conducted in Chakur, Latur and Renapur Tahsil of Latur district. The study is about participation of rural Youth in cattle management practices in relation to their personal characteristics in the selected areas of Latur. The study was carried out at the twelve village of Latur District randomly selected. From each village 10 rural youth were selected with the randomly of the study and data were collected from them by direct interview. Thus, 120 rural youth were selected for the purpose of the study. It was majority of the rural youth faced the constraint about cattle management practices., viz lack of knowledge in cattle management practices, cattle feeds at higher price in the market, non availability of medical facility in local condition in cattle management practices, problems of high financial requirement for animal medicines, constraints in cattle feeds, non availability of breeding bull in the market, lack in knowledge about cattle vaccination and diseases. Thus various problems of the rural youth were about the lack of adequate participation, about the proper management practices of cattle, constraints such as shortage of clean and fresh drinking water and various cattle management practices etc.
