GENOTYPIC RESPONSE OF SUGARCANE TO WHIP SMUT CAUSED BY USTILAGO SCITAMINEA SYDOWS.V. Nalawade, D.V. Indi , R.A. Pandhare and S.M. PawarAbstract A total of 11 genotypes were tested against whip smut disease under artificial condition in the field. One genotype, i.e. Co 0409 showed resistant reaction to smut, 2 genotypes viz., Co 0415 and CoM 0316 were observed to be moderately resistant whereas 6 genotypes viz., Co 0403, CoM 0326, CoSnk 03632, CoSnk 03754, Co 0416 and MS 0301 were moderately susceptible. The remaining 2 genotypes were observed to be susceptible to smut disease.
