JITENDRA PANWAR AND ANIL VYAS

Abstract

The efficacy of eight AM species collected from rhizosphere soils of Acacia leucophloea from Indian thar desert was tested. The arbuscular mycorrhizal plants had increased biomass, nutrients, chlorophylls, carotenoid, sugar and protein accumulation in Acacia leucophloea . Among the eight AM species used during the present study, Glomus deserticola (Trappe, Bloss & Menge) proved to be the most efficient AM species. Details on the symbiotic relationship are also discussed.
