Abstract

A protocol for in vitro propagation of the nodal segments ofKaempferia galanga was described. The explants were cultured on MS medium supplemented with various concentration of BAP and Kn (0.5 -5.0 mg/L) for shoot induction and multishoots, the combination of BAP ( I mg/L), Kn ( 1 mg/ L,) and IAA (01-1.0 mg/ L) was used in the shoot elongation and rooting of the explants. The highest percentage of shoot induction was observed in Kn (2.0 mg/L)+BAP (3.0 mg /1_,) and the maximum number of shoots was obtained in the combination of BAP+IA A (0.5 -1,0 mg /L). The plan dos were successfully transferred to the field.
