DETECTION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF L-ASPARAGINASE ACTIVITY FROM DIFFERENT BACTERIAL ISOLATESS.A. Patil and T.B. SawantAbstract Different bacteria, which include Escherichia Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus c)ulsaris, Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus meNaterium and Bacillus coif's were isolated and studied for the production of Lasparaginase. Among these acoii was fotilid to be prominent producer of I ,-asparaginase. The en.711110 from isolated E.coli was partially purified and studied for the effect of temperature, pH and substrate concentration. The optinitun enzyme activity WaS observed at pH 7.0 When temperature was 37"C. The eriTyme under optimal conditions followod Michaelis-Menton type kinetics and its Km value was found to be 4.3* 10. mol.
