CASSAVA TIPPI AS A BIOGAS FEEDSTOCK : AN EVALUATIONA. RAMALINGAM AND R. KASTURI BAIAbstract The efficiency of biogas production from cassava tippi was analysed at laboratory scale semicontinuous digesters for a period of 20 days. Tippi was loaded at different loading rates of 7.66, 6.13, 4.60, 3.06 and 1.53 G VS/day and the gas production was measured quantitatively and qualitatively. The maximum biogas production observed was 0.52 L/g VS added, at the loading rate of 6.13 g VS added/day.
