DOSAGE EFFECTS OF VITAMINS ON FOOD UTILIZATION GROWTH AND SURVIVAL IN EYE S-ALK ABLATED AND UNABLATED TIGER SHRIMP, PCNAELIS MONODONRAMATHILAGAM, G. PUSHPARAJ, A ANIUTHA jMSHEEHA,A., SOMARAJ, R AND A.JA. RANJITSINGHAbstract Feed trails were conducted for eight weeks to evaluate the effects of varying levels of ascorbic acid, pyridoxine and folic acid on feed conversion ratio (FCR), growth and survival of eye stalk ablated and unablated Penaeus monodon. The results indicated that vitamin leficient diet cause mortality in eyestalk ablated shrimps within two to three weeks, whereas 10 mortality was observed in un-ablated shrimps. Experimental diets having 750 mg of ascorbic acid/kg or 10 mg of pyridoxine/kg or 5 mg of folic acid/kg were found to promote iignificantly (p< 0.05) the growth and survival rate in the ablated shrimps.
