STUDY OF CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS OF GUAVA UNDER SUB- ARID ZONE OF MAHARASHTRAS.N. Gohil, S.M. Kareppa, B.V. Garad, H.K. Shirsath, A.L. Palande and U.T. DesaiAbstract In the study of chemical constituents twelve cultivars of guava were selected from the germpool of Horticulture Department, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri under sub-arid zone of Maharashtra. Significantly maximum T.S.S. (1 6.0° Brix) was recorded in cv.Apple Colour followed by cv Pear Shape.The cv Behat Coconut contains significantly maximum % of T.R.S., N.R.S. and ascorbic acid. Cv. Seedless Basti contains maximum R.S. followed by cv Seedless.The acidity contain was maximum in cv Chittidar which was at par in cvs Pear Shape, Makhamalabad and Apple Colour.
