EFFECT OF LAYOUTS, IRRIGATION REGIMES AND MULCHES ON GROWTH AND YIELD OF SUMMER PEARIMILLETS.D.Yadav, H.M. Patil and S.G. GholveAbstract A study was undertaken at the farm of Water Management Project, M.P.K.V., Rahuri (M.S.) to study the effect of layouts, irrigation regimes and mulches on growth and yield of summer pearlmillet The experiment was conducted in split plot design with twelve treatment combinations replicated trice during summer. 2002. The results revealed that the paired row planting with furrow irrigation recorded significantly maximum growth and yield characters as compared to normal planting with flat bed irrigation scheduling at 75 mm CPE. The yield contribution characteristics viz dry mater, earhead length as well as g rain yield was significantly highest with paired row planting with furrow irrigation at 100 mm CPE. Mulch did not influenced dry matter and earhead length. However, it recorded 10 % more grain yield over no mulch.
