ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS OF PESTICIDES IN AGRICULTURE

Abstract

The farmers in the state of Punjab are using pesticides indiscriminately on the crops without caring the after effects on their crops. They are killing many useful birds and insects beneficial to the farmers with the use of such pesticides. The authors in this paper have tried to bring in the knowledge of public the hazards created by use of excessive chemicals, their effect on human health. Also the authors have also suggested suitable methods by which the use of harmful pesticides can be avoided and these methods are most ecofriendly.
