STUDY ON PHYSICO-CHERNICAL PARAMETERS OF SWEET ORANGE (CITRUS SINENSIS •SBECK) CIATIVARS UNDER SUB ARID ZONE OF MAHARASHTRA.

Abstract

Under the study the general performance of all the cultivars i.e. Blood Red Malta, Blood Red Mutation, Hamlin, Jaffa, Kodur Sathgudi, Mosambi, Valencia, Valencia Late was good. The cv Mosambi stand on top most position in respect of plant height (3.77 m), canopy (25.62 m3), number of fruits (276/plant), yield (53.20 kg/plant), juice percentage (46.91%), TSS (8.94°Brix), Reducing sugars (4.11%) and Total sugars (7.16%), while the acidity was lowest i.e. (0.48 %). The lowest performance was recorded in cv Blood Red Malta i.e. number of fruits (144.37/ plant), yield (25.22 kg/plant), plant height (3.27 in) and rag content (35.65 gm)/ fruit. In cv Blood Red mutation minimum fruit weight (165.25 gm/fruit) and canopy (16.02 m3) was recorded.
