Pragya Sharma and Abha Agarwal

Abstract

A field experiment was carried out during the rainy season (July - October) of 2002 at agriculture research station of Navvabganj, Baredly to study the combined effect of different levels of green manure (Sesbania rostrata) along with nitrogen fertilizer on grain yield, nitrogen content and nitrate reductase activity in two varieties of rice (Govind and Saket-4). Different doses of green manure along with nitrogen fertilizer gave significantly higher values of grain yield, nitrogen content and nitrate red uctase activity in both varieties of rice upto a level of 90 kg N/ha + 75 kg seeds of Sesbania rostrata.
