AEROMYCOFLORA OF INDUSTRIAI WASTES OF PAPER MILL OF JALGAON, MAHARASHTR, INDIA

Abstract

Paper industry is one of the highly polluting industries and a significant amount of solid and liquid wastes are released annually. Present investigation was undertaken to study fungal flora from waste of paper mill of Jalgaon (7 km. away). This investigation mainly deals with cellulytic fungi, because much effluents is rich in cellulose fibers. Aeromycological study was carried out inside and outside the paper mill campus by using Rotorod Sampler for the period of four months (From March to June 1996). The analysis of data of air spora revealed to the presence of 20 fungal spores among these Alternaria contributed 23.20%, Followed by Cladosporium 18.68%, Aspergillus 13.60%, Penicillium 7.20%, Curvu/aria 4.88%, Mucor 4.80% to the total air spora.
