MICROBIAL QUALITY AND PERSISTENCE OF ENTEROPATHOGENICS IN FRESH WATER ENVIRONMENTS

Anjana Sharma and Sushma Rajput

Abstract

Interference of biotic and abiotic factors in the distribution behaviour and surveillance of enteropathogenic Shigella in some freshwater systems of Jabalpur, India. The density ofShigella increased with increasing concentration of nutrients. The distribution pattern of Shigella correlated best with the densities of pollution indicator bacteria, i.e.. total whi forms but not with the densities of F. streptococci.
