A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF FUNGAL MYCOFLORA OF TUBEWELL AND RECYCLED WATER IRRIGATED SOILS

Preeti Saxena and Namita Joshi

Abstract

A preliminary study was undertaken to observe the effect of recycled water on soil mycoflora in comparison to tubewell water fed soil. The physicochemical characteristics of soil which has enormous influence on the mycofloral proportion of the soil were recorded. The observed mean value of temperature was 20.6°C and pH of both the sites was 7.6, moisture content values fluctuated between 13.9% to 41%. Organic matter of recycled water fed soil was 1.02% higher than tube well water fed soil and conductivity of recycled water fed soil was 1.75% of tube well water fed soil. Beside containing more fungal type the colony forming unit of fungi were more in recycle water irrigated soil than tube well water fed soil which increases with increase in dilution in both the samples.
