BIOLOGICAL CONTROL OF HARMFU ZOOPLANKTON NURSERY PONDS

Abstract

Five fish nursery ponds were prepared by the biological control method with the help of Catla catla and Hypophthalmichthys molitrix without using chemicals. All Copepoda and Cladocera were found to be completely eaten up by these fishes. But Labeo rohita, Cirrhina mrigala and Cyprinus carpi° were ineffective in eliminating these plankton.
