S.K. Aheri, S.V. Thite and B.N. Pande

Abstract

A volumetric continuous Tilak Air Sampler was employed for exploring fungal arispora over a groundnut field at Ahmednagar (VValunj) for two consecutive summer seasons of the years 1990 and 1991. In all 82 airborne components were trapped and identified. All the trapped airborne mycoflora types have been categorized under artificially formed group 'spore types' and hyphal fragments, insect parts, plant parts, pollen grains and unidentified spore types were categorized under artificially formed group 'Other types.' Incidence of trapped spores was correlated with meteorological parameters. In both summer seasons, Cladosporium dominated airspora composition and contributed 40. 18% and 32.31% followed by Aspergillus 6.15% and 7.43%, Altematia 5.15% and 5.12% and Rhizopus 3.46% and 4.52% etc.The disease incidence percentage and disease intensity index was also worked out.
