ARTIFICIAL SEA WATER AS A GROWTH MEDIUM FOR SPIRULINA AND THE REGULAT RY ROVE F NITRATE AND BICARBONATEMeenakhshi Banerjee and Malika PalAbstract This paper explores the possibility of utilizing mineral contents present in fly-ash and sea water as growth medium for Spirulina. The results revealed that growth of Spirulina is possible in sea water if it is supplemented with nitrate and the rate of growth further improves with addition of bicarbonate to the above medium.
