SOME THOUGHTS FOR WATER RESOURCE MANAGEMENT FOR CHHATARPUR CITY, INDIA

Abstract

The study area falls in the latitude 24° 54'-25° 0" N and longitudes 790 30' - 790 40" E and falls on survey' of India toposheet No. 54 p/9 on l : 5 Q.000 acale. The total area of investigation is about 288 sq. km. The area of investigation is facing severe water problem. The water supply to the city mainly depends on the surface water bodies such as Khoptal and Burabandh. However, ground water supply in also important. The present paper suggests managements of the water resources (surface and sub surface) for the Chhatarpur city.
