Abstract

Field experiments were conducted during 1998-2000 to ascertain the effect of soil application of chemical fertilizers (N, P, K and Zn), organic manure and also their conjoint application on the yields of armoatic rice-wheat sequence. The total productivity of aromatic rice-wheat rotation was highe (35.98 q grain/ha) with 75% RFDNmzi, for rice and 1 00% RFDNpKzn for wheat. The application of 45 kg N in three equal splits, 30 kg P205, 30 kg K20 and 37.5 kg ZnSO4/ ha or 15 kg N in three equal splits, 10 kg P205, 10 kg K20 and 12.5 kg ZnSO, + 9 t FYM/ha for aromatic rice (cv.Taraori) and 120 kg N in three equal splits, 80 kg P205, and 40 kg K20/ha for subsequent wheat crop (cv. UP 2338) is recommended to obtain the highest yields for aromatic rice-wheat sequence.
