Abstract

This paper presents a comparative study of physico-chemical properties and suitability of ground water for drinking and irrigation purpose. Fifteen samples were collected from different sites of Dudu block of Jaipur district analyzed with the help of standard methods of APHA. The values obtained were compared with standards of ISI, ICMR, WHO and USPH Standards. From the observations most of samples inferred that the concentration of pH, Ca2+, Mg2+, SO42-, TH, DO, BOD and F. are within permissible limits of ISI, ICMR & WHO but TDS, NO and EC values shows that poor water quality in most of the ground water samples taken from different sites.
