A MODEL FOR CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT IN ENGINEERING EDUCATION IN NIGERIA

Abstract

The rapid technological change has brought about increased challenges to engineering education curriculum planners in Nigeria who need timely and accurate information for program planning to adjust curricula to changing external demands. This study examined the various types of data germane to the formulation of an effective curriculum development model in engineering education in Nigeria.The developed information or data model can be utilized by decision makers in engineering education to effectuate a more realistic and successful curriculum process. Suggestions are proffered on how to make the process of curriculum development in engineering education dynamic and capable of responding rapidly to the changing requirements of business and industry.
