EFFECT OF ESTABLISHMENT OF CHILLING CENTRE ON COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF MILK IN DPAP AREA OF KARJAT, MAHARASHTRA

Abstract

The present study was undertaken on general information of milk producers and quantitative changes in milk collection before and after establishment of milk chilling centre at Karjat. The result in respect of quantitative changes in milk collection, chilling and transportation indicated that there was a significant tremendous increase in quantity of milk collected over previous period. The per litre cost of milk collection showed decreasing trends with an increase in quantity of milk handled.
