STUDY OF IMPORTANT MEDICINAL TREES, SHRUBS AND HERBS FOR SOME VEGETATIONAL PARAMETERS BETWEEN 300-2000 M ELEVATIONTulsi Bisht, Shruti Shah, Bhawna Tewari & AshishTewariAbstract The present study shows that density of important medicinal trees ranges between 0.2 and 4.2 trees/100 m2 and of medicinal shrubs and herbs 3.8 and 80 individuals /100m2. Shrubs and herbs namely Berberis asiatica (70%), Potentilla fulgens (60%) and Dhatura, mental (70%) had the most frequent distribution. Shrubs like Berberis asiatica and herb like, Hydychium spicatum, which have been severely exploited, had the lowest densities 3.8 and 6.5/100 m2 respectively. Families Solanaceae and Fabiaceae were the richest in medicinal plants.
