MULTIVARIATE ANALYSIS APPLIED TO THE GEOCHEMISTRY OF SOILS, PATANCHERU INDUSTRIAL BELT. A.P. INDIA

Vadapalli V.R. Kumar and U.V.B. Reddy

Abstract

Multivariate analysis has been applied on the pedogeochemical data of 100 samples collected from Patancheru Industrial Belt (PIB) in order to know the factors dominating the chemistry of soils. A four factor model of factor analysis has been choosen and it is observed that the chemistry of soil is dominated by lithology and changes brought by anthropogenic activities. Factor 4 is loaded with pH and Na for which a detailed study of Na compounds is needed for the establishment of their relationship.
