SATYAM KUMAR KUNDU AND PULAK LAHIRI

Abstract

Water Soluble Fraction (WSF) of different crude oils used by Haldia Oil Refinery, W.B., India have been analysed. Each WSF contains several Polyarornatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs). The toxicity of WSFs on brine shirmp nauplii detected earlier was probably due to the presence of toxic PAHs like Benzo-13-fluoroanthracene, Benzopyrcne, Indenol pyrene, Fluorene etc. in appreciable quantity.
