A STUDY ON FLUORIDE MOBILITY IN ALUMINIUM AND CALCIUM. LOADED SOILKAVITA RAI, MEETU AGARWAL, SAHAB DASS AND ROHIT SHRIVASTAVAbstract The effects of aluminium and calcuim, present in soil, in affecting the mobility vis-a-vis fixation of fluoride (F) in soil (Entisol) have been investigated. The study has been performed under laboratory controlled conditions employing soil columns of appropriate dimensions. The study indicates that loading soil with Ca lowers F mobility significantly and the decrease is in a regular linear fashion. On the other hand the presence of Al in soil increases F mobility initially, but at art incubation period klf) days F fixation in soil is facilitated. Tentative mechanisms for the observed -variations in F mobility have been suggested.
