EFFECT OF HINOSAN ON THE HATCHING RATE AND LARVAL SURVIVAL OF MITI) MELANOSTICTUS SCHNEIDERMERCY MATHEW AND M. I. ANDREWSAbstract The hatching rate of tadpoles ofBufo melanostictus was delayed and decreased with increasing concentrations of the pesticide hinosan. The hatching was completed within 24 hours after the spawning in lower concentrations of the pesticide (up to 2.1 ppm). It took 48-72 hours for completing the hatching in higher concentrations. The hatching potential was totally destroyed at 3.5 ppm. The survival of tadpole was found concentration dependent.
