LIMNOLOGICAL STUDIES ON FRESH WATER BODIES OF KALYAN CITY, INDIA

Abstract

Physico-chemical parameters of three Lakes namely Kala Talav, Gauripada Talav and Adharwadi Talav from Kalyan city of Maharashtra state, India were studied for one year from June 2009 – May 2010. Investigation of some of the important physico-chemical parameters like pH, Temp, Turbidity DO, BOD, COD, Alkalinity, TDS, TSS, TS, Silicate, Nitrate, Phosphate and Sulphate were carried out. The data collected is discussed in the light of present environmental status of these Lakes.
