STUDIES ON THE ROLL OF FUNGAL INOCULA IN COMPOSTING OF WHEAT STRAW

Abstract

Seven Aspergillus, species were isolated from naturally degrading wheat straw. These fungi were identified ail( I screeiled for their efficiency to degrade wheat straw under laboratory conditions. Aspergillus II'?. accrued to be the fastest. Large scale inocidum of this fungus when added to composting wheat straw r(1! 1% (II !-Jaele.ilig for furl I ler degradation, resulted in hastening the composting process by 5-6 days ecnnomizing this labor intensive activity of compost preparation which is used as substrate for the growth of Agricus bisporus,
