EFFECT OF PHOSPHAMIDAN ON THE CARBOHYDRATE, PROTEIN AND LIPID CONTENTS IN CIRRHINA MRIGALAA.R.C. NIRMALA AND J. ELIZAAbstract Fresh water teleost fish Cirrhina mrigala were exposed to phosphamidan for a period of 20 days. Pesticide toxicity on the organic constituents of the muscle tissue were studied. The results showed that all the three organic constituents such as carbohydrate, protein and lipid were reduced remarkably. Statistical analyses of the data revealed that increasing concentration of phosphamidan has decreased all the three organic contents progressively.
