CHARACTERISATION OF SELECTED ENZYMES, TOXIC MOLECULES AND OTHER MACROMOLECULES OF A NEW HYBRID SOYBEAN VARIETYCHETNA DUBEY, N. SAXENA, N. K SAXENA AND ASHUTOSH SRIVASTAVAAbstract The seeds of soybean, (Glycine max Merill. L) JS 71-05 have been analyzed for lipids, proteins, carbohydrates and 2 main DNA dependent enzyme RNA polymerase of urease. RNA polymerase showed major fraction of mol. wt 220 Kda and 180 Kda whereas urease showed a major fraction of mol. wt. 280 Kda. Protein solubility profiles showed lowest solubility at 7.0 pH and highest at 12.0 pH. Four toxic molecules were also identified in the seeds, namely cyanide, trypsin inhibitor, haemaglutinating factor and tannin content were also found in seeds.
