EXPERIMENTAL AFLATOXICOSIS IN COMMERCIAL BROILERS: PATHOMORPHOLOGICAL STUDY OF SMALL INTESTINED. SRINIVASA RAO AND V.V. VARDHANIAbstract One week (170-180gm wt.) old broilers were employed to understand the effect of aflatoxin B1 (AFB,) on pathomorphology of small intestine. Two experimental groups treated with AFB1; A (0.01ng/ bird) and B (0.1ng/bird) and another control group C were used in the present study. Controls as well as AFB, treated animals were sacrificed on day 1,3,8 and 11 of experimental period and pieces of duodenum, jejunum and ileum were collected, processed, sectioned (5 to 6m) and stained (I-I&E Method) for histopathological study. It is interesting to note that AFB, induced marked pathological changes in duodenum, jejunum and ileum of treated animals throughout the experimental period.
