DEEPTI KHANDELWAL, HARSHADA JOSHI AND B.L. CHAUDHARY

Abstract

Milk is an ideal habitat for the growth and multiplication of microorganisms due to its nutritional constitution which contain protein, carbohydrate, mineral and vitamins. All these components support the growth of many forms of bacteria. Samples of camel milk collected from different regions of Udaipur district were analysed to evaluate their microbial quality. Samples were analyzed for microbial quality attributes including total viable bacterial count (TVBC) and total coliform count. The mean value for TVBC and total coliform count were 7.67 and 4.201 log cfu/mL respectively
