Abstract

The present study was carried out at three different locations of Allahabad district for checking the quality of irrigation water discharged from Trans Yamuna sewage sludge treatment plant. From each site treated effluent samples were collected at different irrigation and discharge points during three consecutive monthÂ’s viz. February, March and April 2010. The quality of treated effluent samples at all sites were assessed by analysing various physico-chemical parameters and results were compared with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The results showed slight changes in the quality of treated effluent samples at each site. All the sites recorded safe and desirable limit of treated effluent and safe for irrigation use.
