QUALITY ASSESSMENT OF DIFFERENT AQUATIC SYSTEMS IN BALCO AND ITS ADJOINGING AREA, KORBA (C.G.), INDIAM.M. VAISHNAV AND S. DEWANGANAbstract Physico chemical and metallic elements were studied out in the Balco (Korba,CG) industrial zone. The sampling spots were selected based on their environmentally importance. Water samples were collected (March 2011 to May 2011) in precleaned jerry cans and glass bottles, then subjected to analytical studies in terms of temperature, pH, EC, Turbidity, TS, TDS, TH, T. Alkalinity, T. Acidity and selected metallic elements like Fe, Al, Zn, Mn and As by using standard method APHA. The observations were interpreted by the mathematical quality like means, ranges, SD, SE, %CV, r value and WQI. Except pH, the mean value of all selected parameters obtained were beyond the standard limit. The sampling point BS9 had high loading of organic and inorganic pollutants as proved by high value of WQI: 9264.940.
