V. Rekha, M.D. Saifuddin, S.R. Ahammad and P.K. Dhal

Abstract

The use of microbial products for therapeutic treatment has increased recently, especially secondary metabolites or bioactive compounds which include pigments, enzymes, steroids and antibiotics. Amylolytic enzymes are one of the most important enzymes in current biotechnological-based food, detergent, and pharmaceutical industries. The objective of the work is to isolate and identify fungal strain from the soil sample of paddy field, which can produce amylase with desired characteristics that can be used in industrial sectors.
