GROWTH, FLOWERING AND BULB PRODUCTION OF TUBEROSE (POLIANTHES TUBEROSA L.) CV. SINGLE AS INFLUENCED BY ORGANIC MANURES AND BIOFERTILIZERSShankar Lal, S.S. Lakhawat, K.K. Yadav and Vikram KumarAbstract A field experiment was conducted at Hi-tech Horticulture Unit, Department of Horticulture, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, M.P.U.A. & T., Udaipur, during 2007-2008, to find out the influence of organic manures and biofertilizers on growth, flowering, bulb production parameter and vase life of tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa L.) cv. Single. The experiment was laid out in a factorial randomized block design with twelve treatment combinations and three replications. The maximum spike length (82.03 cm), total number of florets (39.10), diameter of basal floret (4.13 cm), number of spikes per plant (1.72), weight of bulbs per plant (340.60 g), diameter of bulb (2.29 cm) and longevity of spikes (16.10 days) of tuberose cultivar Single were recorded with the application of vermicompost and phosphorus solubilising bacteria @ 1 kg/m2 and 2 g/bulb, respectively.
