Abstract

Ozone Technology is an emerging technology in the area of waste water treatment. This Technology has been so far used in lake remediation and drinking water disinfection. Scientists now a days are exploring the use of Ozone Technology in the area of waste water treatment. Under this context, a study was carried out to ascertain the effectiveness of the ozone technology in treating the industrial effluents of Tannery and Textile industries. The studies carried out and the results are analyzed. The results prove that ozone technology is more effective than the conventional treating methods. This technology envisages a better treatment and more over does not produce any by products or sludge. Hence ozonised centrifugal aeration treatment (OCAT) can be strongly recommended for treating the industrial effluents in an effective manner.
