Abstract

Zagros forest with a beautiful landscape has made a tolerable environment for its residents in the unsuitable climatic of west and south west of the country. However, residents invade this green space and wildlife habitat every year, which has caused some concerns. In this research, one of the most important factors of Zagros forests destruction, fire affecting soil condition, had been studied in Lorestan province. For this purpose, three treatments (third year after fire, sixth year after fire and control area (unburned) were selected in Visian forest in south-west of Khorramabad, which had been under fire during 2007 and 2010 and according to the area, 48 plots were randomly considered in order to take soil samples. After taking soil samples, performing trial operation and statistical analysis (ANOVA and PCA), the results showed the impact of fire on some soil physical characteristics such as porosity, bulk density and soil saturation because of the soil structure disturbing due to the soil temperature increasing during the fire. In addition, significant effects on the chemical properties of soil, such as increasing of absorbable phosphorus and potassium, acidity, carbon to nitrogen ratio and cation exchange capacity and reduction of lime, organic matter and soil electrical conductivity were observed, which were due to the destruction and conversion of some chemical elements in soil, losing and burning of sol organic matter and creation of ash in the subsoil.
