STUDYING THE EFFECTS OF GIBBERLLIC ACID AND PLANT DENSITY ON WHEAT

Mohammadreza Yavarzadeh

Abstract

In order to study the effect of gibberlic acid hormone and plants density on the growth and yield of wheat this experiment was performed as splited plots by designing completely randomized block, with three replications. The main factor was considered as density, including three levels of 250, 400 and 500 plants per square meter (m2) and the sub (secondary) factor was gibberllic acid hormone, including three levels of 0. 200 and 400 ppm. In this experiment, the traits including grain yield, biological weight, root weight, thousand grain weight, plant height, wheat ear length and nods number were measured the result of this study indicated that the effect of density and hormone is only meaningful on the plant height and ash and the density has positive effect on the spikelet (ear) length and the area of stamen leaf so that the highest spikelet length was observed in the density of 500 plants per m2. the density hadn’t meaningful effect on the other traits and effect of gibberlic acid on the height was meaningful and the maximum height was related to using gibberlic acid ppm400 rate the ash also increased as the hormone increased and height amount of ash was related to using ppm400 gibberlic acid, but the effect of gibberlic acid on the other traits was not meaningful.
