Abstract

Experiment on impact of organic and integrated nutrient management on yield and nutrient uptake of wheat under rice-wheat cropping system was conducted at Punjab Agricultural University farm, Ludhiana, India during 2010-11. Wheat variety, PBW 291 was sown on 25th November 2010. Highest grain and straw yield was recorded when integrated use of RF with 200 kg N ha-1 from FYM was made. Application of N at 400 kg ha-1 through different organic manures significantly increased the grain and straw yield of wheat over control. It however, was significantly lower than recommended fertilizer (RF) and integrated nutrient management treatment. The per cent N content in wheat grain in control plots was the lowest (1.19 per cent), while in RF it was 1.38 per cent which was significantly higher than control, but the maximum per cent N content in wheat grain was recorded in the plots where 200 kg N ha-1 was applied from FYM along with RF.
