PROCEDURE OF EQUIVALENT ENLARGEMENT AND AGGREGATION OF PRODUCT’S LIFE-CYCLE NETWORK MODEL

Vladimir D. Kolychev and Victor P. Rumyantsev

Abstract

The aim of investigation is to prepare some models for management of projects through conception of lifecycle approach including ideas of time and cost efficiency. It is also possible to solve the task of transformation of productÂ’s life-cycle to the chain-like form typical for the structure of life-cycle. The article formulates certain features of productÂ’s life-cycle which is presented as a network model where events are at its nodes. The article considers peculiarities of development of the enlarged network models of productÂ’s life-cycle (PLC) and their use in planning and managing the PLCÂ’s processes. The article also addresses the issues of time and cost equivalent enlargement of network models, which share common operations across several projects. The authors offer algorithms and methods for solving problems of topological and parametric conversion of network models of productÂ’s life-cycle. Some issues and details of mathematical models of innovative products life- cycle which are used in planning and management are discussed. Real examples of aggregation and enlargement of productionÂ’s life cycle network model are given in this paper. Suggested algorithms are applicable in multi project and portfolio management tasks solving and methods of calculation of critical costs and time parameters. Methods discussed in this paper re suitable for deterministic structure productsÂ’ life cycle network. Special models and examples of graph transformation to chain-like view are also provided in this paper.
