Abstract

A field experiment was conducted on loamy sand soil during rabi season of the year 2011-12 to study the “Influence of dates of sowing and irrigation scheduling (IW:CPE Ratios) on growth, yield attributes and seed yield of Cress” were tested in strip plot design with 4 replications. Sowing on 15th November gave significantly the highest seed yield. Early sowing on 15th October and late sowing on 30th November reduced the yield significantly. Irrigation scheduling at 0.8 IW:CPE Ratio significantly increased the plant height, yield attributes and test weight which resulted in higher seed yield of Cress over 0.6 IW:CPE Ratio, control irrigation at 30, 60 and 80 DAS and 0.4 IW:CPE Ratio. Treatment combination D3I3 (sowing at 15th November with 0.8 IW:CPE Ratio) significantly recorded the highest seed yield as compared to other treatments combinations. Oil content significantly the highest under early sowing at 15th October over late sowing (30 October, 15 November and 30 November). However, oil content was the highest under low irrigated condition (0.4 IW:CPE Ratio).
