IMPROVEMENT OF SOIL PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES THROUGH ORGANIC FARMING IN MAIZE CROP

Abstract

An experiment was conducted at Certified Organic Farm of Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari during 2012-13 to study the effect of organic nutrition on improvement in physical as well as chemical properties of soil. The treatment receiving application of 50% castor cake + 50% NADEP compost recorded significantly higher WSA and also recorded significantly increase in concentration of available P2O5, K2O, Ca, Mg, S, Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu contents in soil after harvest of maize crop.
