ECONOMICS OF IPM FOR GRAM POD BORER, HELICOVERPA ARMIGERA (HUBNER) ON PIGEONPEA OVER NON-IPM IN MAHABOOB NAGAR DISTRICT OF ANDHRA PRADESH, INDIA

Abstract

Onfarm demonstrations of IPM for gram pod borer, Helicoverpa armigera at pyalamaddi village of Mahaboobnagar district during 2004-05 and 2005-06 revealed that with the adoption of IPM technology for gram podborer, Helicoverpa armigera in pigeonpea, there was 54.03% reduction in pod damage and an increase of 44.5% increase in yields . Benefit-Cost ratio (BC ratio) was also high in IPM plots (1.08) compared to non-IPM plots (0.24).
