REPRODUCTIVE BIOLOGY OF LITTLE TUNA (EUTHYNNUS AFFINIS) IN THE ARABIAN SEAK. K. Sabha Nissar, Faisal Rashid , Girija G. Phadke and A.Y. DesaiAbstract Reproductive biology of little tuna in the Arabian Sea was conducted from January 2010 - December 2010 which collected the data with the help of drift gill nets that unloaded their catch at Veraval landing centre, Gujarat. Spawning season of female and male of E. affinis occurred round the year with peak during December March. The size at first maturity and age of female and male was observed to be 55-60 cm. The overall sex ratio was 0.82. Sex ratio by length class indicated small size of E. affinis (468.21 mm - 60.8 mm) comprise of male more than female while large size of E affinis (545.05-520.4mm) found proportion of female less than those size. The highest length of E. affinis was found to be 579.5mm during January, 2010.
