EFFECT OF ORGANIC AND INORGANIC SOURCES OF NUTRIENTS ON YIELD AND UPTAKE OF NUTRIENT BY FRENCH BEANPrajakta M. Metkari, Suresh S. Kharat and Archana S. NagargojeAbstract A field experiment was conducted in Rabi 2006-07 at Research Farm, Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani to study the effect of organic and inorganic sources of nutrients on yield and uptake of nutrient by French bean. The treatments comprised of various sources of organic (vermicompost) and inorganic (N, P2O5 & K2O) sources of fertilizers. The experiment was laid in RBD with 10 treatments replicated three times. The grain and straw yield were recorded highest with the application of 150 % RDF (15.30 q ha-1) followed by inorganic fertilizers as per soil test (13.21 q ha-1) and 100% RDF (13.13q ha-1). The straw yield followed similar results to grain yield of French bean. The uptake of N, P and K influenced significantly with the application of 150% RDF. The uptake of N, P and K by grain was recorded respectively the extent of 54.82, 7.95 & 18.97 Kg ha-1 with the application of 150% RDF. The uptake of N, P & K by straw followed similar results to uptake by grain. The grain, straw yield and uptake of nutrients were not influenced significantly with the application of vermicompost @ 10 t ha-1.
