A STUDY OF ACOUSTICAL AND PHYSICO CHEMICAL PARAMETERS OF GROUND WATER IN CHENNAIPREETHA MARY GEORGE, N.S. SHUBHASHREE, P. DIVYA AND C. SREEKUTTAN UNNITHANAbstract The aim of the present study is to assess the acoustical and physico chemical parameters of ground water in Chennai. The water samples were collected from houses of Ambathur and Vadapalani. Ultrasonic velocity (u), density (ρ), and viscosity (μ) of drinking water samples were measured at 303K. Ultrasonic velocity has been measured using single frequency interferometer at 2MHz. From the experimental data other thermodynamics parameters, viz a diabatic the experimental data other thermodynamic parameters, viz adiabatic compressibility, intermolecular free length and acoustic impedance are calculated. Various Physico chemical parameters were also studied and compared with standard values.
