STUDY THE SUITABILITY OF CONTINUOUS HYDROTHERMAL PRETREATMENT ON THE DEHULLING OF RED GRAM (CAJANUS CAJAN. L)

T. Veena, B.K. Yadav and K. Alagusundaram

Abstract

The hydrothermally treated sample possesses other advantages viz., having a lesser cooking time and thereby saving cooking energy. Thus the overall time and labor involved would reduce. The continuous operation also ensures higher productivity. Hence the continuous hydrothermal treatment pretreatment can be a potential replacement option for the oil pretreatment method currently practiced in pulse milling industries.
